Am 16. April 1560 wurden von den Nürnberger Großkaufleuten mit dem Börsglöcklein erstmals feste Marktzeiten eingeläutet. Die Regeln der „Neuen Marktordnung" markieren den Beginn der wirtschaftlichen Selbstverwaltung. Seitdem vertritt der Handelsvorstand, das Kollegium der Marktvorsteher, die Interessen der Nürnberger Unternehmen und besteht bis heute in der IHK fort.

On April 16, 1560, the Nuremberg merchants rang in fixed market times for the first time with the Stock Exchange bell. The rules of the “New Market Order” mark the beginning of economic self-government. Since then, the Commercial Board, the college of market managers, has represented the interests of Nuremberg companies and continues to exist in the IHK to this day.
