1. Cover Street Marker
Inscription. Carl Cover was a former Army Air Corps pilot who joined Douglas in the early 1930's, and quickly became Vice President of Sales, in additional to being the company's chief test pilot. He commanded the first flights of the DC-1, DC-2 and DC-3, as well as several other Douglas designs. In 1941, he became Executive Vice President of Douglas Aircraft. In 1943, he resigned to reenter the Army Air Corps and was lost in a military aircraft crash during World War II.
