Inscription. This historic structure has had two lives. It was originally built as an entertainment pavilion and dance hall during the peak of Key West's cigar industry. Located at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean at the end of Simonton Street in a relatively undeveloped area, the hall was a much-needed getaway for residents. It was famous for entertainment, relaxation and dances. The hurricanes of 1909 and 1910 caused significant damage to the structure. In 1911, the surviving two story cupola roofed portion of the edifice was moved to its current location.

Erected by Fraces Belzer-Reid & Gary Bixhorn. (Marker Number 122.)
