Gurine was built in 1875 by Knut (Knud) Skåle Jøra-Knut'n in Rosendal. The client was Jacob T. Bleie from Sorfjorden.
Gurine was built as a hardanger yacht with a length of 61 feet. In 1959 she was extended to 72.6 feet.
Most useful in Nordlandsfarlen. In 1985, Georg Gundersen bought the schooner and carried out an extensive restoration
In 2002, Gurine lies at the quay in Sandviken and needs extensive reclamation An interest group for Galeas Gurine was established in 2011. Gurine was rescued home to Rosendal.
