Inscription. Constructed in 1960, B.L. Moor High School was built for African American students as part of Mississippi's equalization program following the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education ruling. The school was formed from the consolidation of local church schools and the Pleasant Grove High School in eastern Oktibbeha County. Moor High produced many notable graduates and was an economic benefit to the local community. The name of the school was later changed to East Oktibbeha County High School. It closed in 2015.
