1. Grinde School Marker

Inscription. As many as 62 children at a time were taught in this typical one-room schoolhouse. It was the largest and best-equipped school in Minnehaha County when it was built. Winter sessions began after harvest, November or December, with a spring session after planting. It wasn't until after 1910 that a single session of six months and later nine months was instituted.
