1. Coffee Pot Cafe Marker
Inscription. Formerly called the Hot Cha Cafe, this unique building is shaped like a coffee pot. Fantasy architecture based on an object became popular in the 1920's and 1930's in small-scale commercial buildings, to attract attention and sell a product. Most of them have been demolished.
 
Erected 1991 by City of Long Beach Cultural Heritage Commission.

"Best known in Long Beach as the former Koffee Pot Cafe, the iconic building at 957 E. Fourth St. was constructed in 1932 in a programmatic architectural style (a form based on an object representing the business within) that was popular at the time.
