1. The Page Building Marker
Inscription. In 1937, A. W. Page built this building comprised of 4 storefronts with 15 offices upstairs for $45,000. It was sold to the local Carpenter's Union for $25,000 in 1943. During WWII, over 2100 carpenters worked at Wainright Shipyard in Panama City. Government offices such as the Coast Guard and Naval Intelligence were early tenants. Early businesses were West Florida Gas, Brannon's Market, Phillip's Music Mart, Monk's Grocery, and Harry's Good Food Cafι (c. 1951). The Page was called one of the most modern buildings in Bay County because it was completely air-conditioned. From the 1970's and until 2022, it was known as the Magnolia Centre, Don Giles owner. In 2022, the Branch family converted this historic building into residential apartments with its original name.
