Genial baute Architekt Johann Jakob Herkomer (1652-1717) die mittelalterliche Basilika des Benediktinerklosters St. Mang von 1701-1717 in eine prachtvolle Barockkirche um. Die Kirche soll an den legendären Gründerabt Magnus erinnern.

English:
The architect Johann Jakob Herkomer (1652-1717) brilliantly turned the medieval basilica of the Benedictine monastery of St Mang into a magnificent baroque church (1701-1717). The church was intended to recall the monk Magnus, the legendary founding abbot.
