Inscription. Lee's Gulf Service Station which later changed to Lee's BP was owned by Edward Lee, Sr. This was a very successful business and allowed both blacks and whites to purchase fuel and associated supplies within the community.

Dan Lee says, "Each one of dad's four male children worked at the station from time to time. That allowed us to establish a firm community relationship and provided each of us with business skills.”. After returning from Viet Nam, Donald Lee worked with his father and managed the station after his father died in 1990 until it closed in 1995.

The gasoline station was in full operation from 1958 to 1995
