Inscription. Bay County's Oldest Bank was originally a beautiful one-story building of old style concrete block or cement Stone (earlier referred to as "artificial stone"). It is the only remaining example of this particular old style craftsmanship left in Bay County.

The Bank of St. Andrews was established in 1907 with starting capital of $15,000 and six Directors: J. H. Drummond, President (also first Mayor of St. Andrews), J. M. Trousdale, L. M. Ware, W. H. Milton, W. E. Mathis, and F. Bullock, Cashier. Construction of this building was completed in early 1908. In 1930, Commercial Bank purchased the Bank's assets and transferred its holdings. In the '30's, 40's and '50's, the building served as a real estate office, a second hand shop and the St. Andrew Bakery respectively. After a second floor addition; the Painter's Local 992 occupied the upstairs from 1953 to 1975. In 1975, The Beach Bag gift shop occupied the building until 1979. After a. long period of little use, the City of Panama City installed a Police Sub-Station in 1998. Under CEO/President Terry DuBose, Coastal Community Bank acquired the property in late 2005 and began an extensive restoration project. The restoration consisted of removal of the stucco exterior coating, installation of a duplicated copper ceiling to match the original, replacement of the original oversized
