Amargosa Valley in Nye County, Nevada — The American Mountains (Southwest)
Longstreet Chapel
The Chapel at Longstreet was constructed in 2018 and conducted its first service October 28, 2018, officiated by Clergyman Sherry Tonegan.
This Chapel is a replica of the St. Stephens Catholic Church originally built in the mining town of Belmont, Nevada in 1874 and officiated by Rev. Father Monteverde, costing $3,000.
Belmont was the original County Seat of Nye County, established in 1864.
In 1906 when the mines in Belmont played out and Manhattan Nevada (16 miles west) was in its "heyday" the church was disassembled, moved to Manhattan, and reassembled, where it remains today.
