Inscription. This one and a half story frame house was built by the St. Andrews Bay Lumber Company in 1922 on the site of the "Old School Property at Millville". The school was operated from 1908 to 1917 by the Board of Public Instruction of Washington and Bay County. Later a new brick Millville School was built on East Avenue by 1917 and the old school site sold. "The Company" built five new "dwelling houses" and drained a large lily pond here. This is one of those surviving houses. The Daniel Buran family moved to Millville in 1923 and rented the home until they purchased it in 1935. Members of the Buran family owned the house until 1988. Miss Annie Bertha Buran was the last of her family to occupy it. The Buran family has been active in the life of Millville for more than 65 years. It has been restored to the original simple "company house" style of 1922 when Millville was a proud "company town".
