1. Plaque en hommage à Emile Plaisant (Musée de la Résistance en ligne, in French).
Excerpt (in translation): Emile Plaisant, 34, member of the FFI squadron of Vaugirard, was killed on August 24 at 11:00 p.m. in front of the north entrance to the Vaugirard slaughterhouses.

On August 24, 1944 at the end of the evening, taking advantage of the departure of the police forces for the Town Hall which the first soldiers of the 2nd DB had just reached, the Germans attacked the FFI Squadron of Vaugirard stationed at the Abattoirs on Rue des Morillons…. The fighting cost the lives of seven FFI and twenty German soldiers... The men were exhausted, the ammunition was lacking. Calls for help were launched towards Clamart and Meudon, the Fire Department promised to send weapons through the sewers... Finally the attackers withdrew at the cost of numerous deaths and vehicles set on fire with molotov cocktails….On the FFI side, there were injuries and two deaths: Roger Corrouge, 32, killed while defending the gate on Rue de Dantzig and Emile Plaisant, 34, mortally wounded while defending the gate on Rue des Morillons.
