1. Jan van Duivenvoorde Marker
Hij was een luitenant-admiraal van de Nederlandse oorlogsvloot ιn een adellijke en rijke Hagenaar uit de eerste helft van de zeventiende eeuw. In 1602 bracht hij een Spaanse galelenvloot onder Frederik Spinola tot zinken in de Slag in het Kanaal nabij Oostende. Frederik Spinola zou nog geen zes maanden later gedood worden door de Zeeuwse admiraal Joos de Moor. Van Duivenvoorde bekleedde een aantal hoge functies, waaronder lid van de Staten van Holland.
He was a lieutenant admiral of the Dutch war fleet and a noble and wealthy resident of The Hague from the first half of the seventeenth century. In 1602 he sank a Spanish galleon fleet under Frederik Spinola in the Battle of the Narrow Seas near Ostend. Frederik Spinola would be killed less than six months later by the Zeeland admiral Joos de Moor. Van Duivenvoorde held a number of high positions, including a member of the States of Holland.
