Introduced at the end of World War II by the Soviet Union, it was widely used by Communist and Arab countries and Iran. Capable of both direct and indirect fire modes, this weapon was captured by 1-327th of the 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) near Fire Base Veghel, in May of 1968 during the Vietnam War.
