1. The Netherlands Memorial Garden Marker
Inscription. This garden commemorates the 101st Airborne Division's aerial assault into the Netherlands near the city of Veghel on 17 September 1944. The flowers planted here were given by the members of the 101st Airborne Division Association of the city of Veghel. The sign, incorporating the city crest of Veghel and the insignia of the 101st Airborne Division, was presented, in the name of the city and its citizens by the Honorable J.P. Schreven, mayor of Veghel, to Major General B.E. Powell, Commanding General, 101st Airborne Division in ceremony at Veghel, 17 September 1964.
