Inscription. The gymnasium was completed in 1867 by the Ursulines of Brown County. It was originally attached to the library building to the north, which was razed in 1985. The first floor was used as a "play hall" and the second floor a "music hall" lined on either side with practice rooms later converted to offices and classrooms. The gym serves the college today for special activities, dance classes, gatherings, and the annual Car, Craft & Quilt Show. The southern addition was built in the 1950s as a studio for art classes, including painting and pottery making, and remains in use today.
