neighboring the previous one, which was in danger of ruin. But it quickly proved too small to absorb the development of the administration; the council then decided to build a town hall on the same location; in 1878, the project was entrusted to the architect Laynaud. The new building, inaugurated on November 21, 1883, still houses the council meeting room and the offices of elected officials. In 1993, an extension intended to accommodate municipal services, scattered throughout the city, was carried out by the architect Henri Gaudin.
