"This flagstaff and American flag that flies upon it are dedicated to members of our countrys armed forces - - past, present and future. Their sacrifices preserve a republic whose vitality derives from the freedom to acquire knowledge and the opportunity thereby to better ones self and society."
The placement of this memorial at Gulf Coast Community College, on the occasion of its fortieth anniversary signifies the lasting bond between the college and our military community. It is under their aegis the the college offers educational opportunity to all.
