Progettata da Jacopo Sansovino, viene eretta tra il 1537 e il 1554, su ordine dei Procuratori di San Marco, per accogliere i codici greci e latini donati a Venezia dal Cardinale Bessarione; è oggi parte della Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana. St. Mark's Square a World Heritage site
Designed by Jacopo Sansovino, this was built in the years 1537-1554 at the behest of the Procuratori di San Marco and was intended to house the Latin and Greek codices donated to the city by Cardinal Bessarion (now part of the collection of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana). The State Rooms are open to the public, admission included in the "Museums of St. Mark's Square" ticket.

Conçue par Jacopo Sansovino, elle fut construite entre 1537 et 1554, sur l'ordre des Procurateurs de Saint-Marc, pour accueillir les manuscrits grecs et latins offerts à Venise par le Cardinal Bessarion; elle fait partie aujourd'hui de la Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana. On peut visiter les Salles monumentales de cette bibliothèque avec le billet combiné des "Musei di Piazza San Marco". L'entrée se fait par le Musée Correr.

The Marciana Library or Library of Saint Mark (Italian: Biblioteca Marciana, but in historical documents commonly referred to as Libreria pubblica di san Marco) is a public library in Venice, Italy. It is one of the earliest surviving public libraries and repositories for manuscripts in Italy and holds one of the world's most significant collections of classical texts.
