L'edificio del XII secolo, ad un solo piano, destinato originariamente ad abitazione dei Procuratori di San Marco, venne interamente ricostruito tra il 1500 e il 1532. Nel progetto e nella realizzazione furono impegnati alcuni tra i più importanti architetti attivi a Venezia in quel periodo, quali il Codussi, lo Scarpagnino, Bartolomeo Bon il Giovane, Guglielmo de' Grigi, il Sansovino. Oggi ospitano soprattutto uffici.

The original twelfth-century building of only one storey housed the Procuratori di San Marco, high-ranking state officials. Over the period 1500-1532 the structure was entirely rebuilt, with the scheme involving some of the most important architects active in Venice at the time: Mauro Codussi, Antonio Scarpagnino, Bartolomo Bon the Younger, Guglielmo de' Grigi and Jacopo Sansovino. Today the building houses offices.

Das einstöckige Gebäude der "Alten Prokuratien" aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, das ursprünglich als Wohngebäude für die Procuratori di San Marco diente, wurde zwischen 1500 und 1532 vollständig erneuert. Destiné, au départ, à l'habitation des Procurateurs de Saint-Marc, cet édifice du XIIe siècle, doté d'un seul étage, a été entièrement reconstruit entre 1500 et 1532. The Procuratie are three connected buildings along the perimeter of Saint Mark's Square in Venice, Italy. Two of the buildings, the Procuratie Vecchie (Old Procuracies) and the Procuratie Nuove (New Procuracies), were constructed by the procurators of Saint Mark, the second-highest dignitaries in the government of the Republic of Venice, who were charged with administering the treasury of the Church of Saint Mark as well as the financial affairs of state wards and trust funds established on behalf of religious and charitable institutions.(Submitted on May 15, 2024, by James Hulse of Medina, Texas.)
