1. Bingham Farmstead 1828 Marker
Inscription. John Bingham acquired this parcel of land from the United States government in 1828. The uncle of Missouri painter George Caleb Bingham was a co-founder of Arrow Rock. The existing house and barn date to 1870. The remaining 10 acres is the last of the original parcel that was given to the Historic Village of Arrow Rock. The famous gunmaker John Sites also owned the property in the late 1800's and the historic barn was used in the making of the movie Tom Sawyer.
