1. La Maison Aux Masques Marker
Inscription.

(English translation:)
This house, built in the first half of the 18th century, is one of the oldest in Saint-Denis. It conceals under its two arcades the existence of a mezzanine, a service floor fitted out over the two shops. The noble floor includes high windows with expensive ironwork balconies.

They are also decorated with sculpted masks, called mascarons, which represent the Four Seasons. On the left, at the corner of rue Gabriel-Péri, the Café du Pavillon, formerly under the Pavillon Royal sign, dates from the same period. This meeting place, where Henri IV and Gabrielle d'Estrées already met, according to tradition, belonged to a pastry caterer. The facades of these two buildings bear witness to the wealth of the bourgeois owners of Saint-Denis of this period.
