Het Duo Jan & Mien bestaande uit de Amsterdamse volkszanger en cafι-eigenaar Bolle Jan Froger (1942-2009) en zijn echtgenote Mien van Es (1942 - 2009) bracht in de jaren zeventig verschillende singles uit. Zij waren geregeld te zien in televisieprogramma's zoals Op losse groeven. De single Mariandel haalde in 1978 de Tipparade. Mien Froger-Van Es maakte daarnaast ruim tien jaar deel uit van het Jordaan Cabaret met o.a. Paula Dennis en Johnny Jordaan. In 1981 werd het cafι Bolle Jan verkocht en startte het echtpaar een nieuw cafι met dezelfde naam bij het Amsterdamse Rembrandtplein.

The Duo Jan & Mien, consisting of the Amsterdam folk singer and cafι owner Bolle Jan Froger (1942-2009) and his wife Mien van Es (1942 - 2009), released several singles in the 1970s. They were regularly seen in television programs such as Op los grooves (“On Loose Grooves”). The single Mariandel reached the Tipparade in 1978. Mien Froger-Van Es was also part of the Jordaan Cabaret for more than ten years with, among others, Paula Dennis and Johnny Jordaan. In 1981, the cafι Bolle Jan was sold and the couple started a new cafι with the same name near Amsterdam's Rembrandtplein.
