in honor of his service in Europe with the US Army Air Corps 1942-1945. World War II P-47 Thunderbolt ("Jug") Fighter Pilot. He flew 109 missions, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross & 15 Air Medals. His flights required the replacement of 2 engines, 17 wings & 3 tail sections.
