Inscription.
Mike Bordick continued the legacy of great Orioles shortstops in his six seasons with the team, and his .987 fielding percentage is the best at the position in club history. Replaced the immortal Cal Ripken at shortstop in 1997 and five years later broke his A.L. records for highest fielding percentage (.998), fewest errors (1) and consecutive errorless games (110), as well as his M.L. record for consecutive errorless chances (543). His .982 career fielding percentage over 14 big league seasons ranks third all-time at shortstop. Named to the American League All-Star team in 2000.
