Inscription.
At the time of his induction, Phil Itzoe was in his 41st season as the Orioles traveling secretary — and still going. His tenure handling the team's travel needs is the longest of anyone ever among the four major sports leagues. Each year, he is responsible for moving Orioles players, coaches and staff through more than 40,000 miles and 1,500 hotel rooms, from spring training through the season. He joined the Orioles in 1964 as an assistant in the public relations department before taking over the team's travel in 1968. In 1990, Itzoe was the first recipient of baseball's Donald Davidson Memorial Award for traveling secretaries.

Erected by Baltimore Orioles Baseball Club.
