Doug DeCinces replaced one of baseball's most legendary players, Brooks Robinson, and was a regular at third base for the Orioles for six seasons. He hit 107 home runs for the Orioles, the most famous of which came on June 2, 1979, at Memorial Stadium. His game-winning, 2-run homer in the bottom of the 9th beat Detroit, propelled the Orioles to the World Series and is regarded as the beginning of what came to be known as "Orioles Magic." He played 15 years in the majors for the Orioles, Angels and Cardinals, batting .259 with 237 home runs.
