Inscription.
Cal Ripken, Jr. played in 2,632 consecutive games, breaking the record of the legendary Lou Gehrig. The Iron man finished his 21-year major league career as the Orioles' leader in virtually every offensive category. He was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1982, and twice was named A.L. MVP. He was selected to 19 All-Star Games and was twice the All-Star Game MVP. Cal became only the 7th player to reach the 400 homer/3,000 hit plateau and only the third to do it for one team. He joins Cal Ripken Sr. as the only father-son inductees in the Orioles Hall of Fame.
