Inscription.
Hank Peters was the Orioles general manager from November 1975 through the 1987 season. He oversaw Orioles teams that won the American League pennant in 1979 and the World Series in 1983, earning Major League Executive of the Year honors each season. The Orioles were 1036-845 (.551) in his 12 seasons as GM, including 6 seasons of 90 or more wins. Peters also engineered a 10-player trade with the New York Yankees in 1976 that brought three Orioles Hall of Famers — Scott McGregor, Rick Dempsey and Tippy Martinez — and also presided over the 1978 draft in which the Orioles selected Cal Ripken Jr.
