1. Ted Strickland Ohio's 68th Governor Boyhood Home Marker
Ted Strickland, the youngest of nine children was was born in Lucasville, Ohio on August 4, 1941. He grew up on Duck Run. When Terry was very young the family home burned down. His Father fixed up a back yard chicken coop and moved the family in as a temporary housing while the house was being rebuilt.
This house stands on what today is called Inkeep Road. When Route 348 was rebuilt it caused the road to dead-end at the Strickland home. Just 1/3 a mile from the Strickland home is the boyhood home of Roy Rogers on what today is called Trigger Pass Road. Two and two third miles from here is Branch Rickey's boyhood home.
Ted Strickland was first elected to Congress in 1992. He was re-elected for four additional terms. Ted ran and was elected Ohio's 68th Governor in 2006 with sixty percent of the vote. Not bad for a kid living in a chicken coop on Duck Run.

This is the barn the Strickland Family lived in for a short time. It is now a home that relatives still live in.

This is the foundation of the smoke house that sits on the hill behind the barn (home). It sits on private property, the home owner was more than happy to tell me about it and allow me to photograph it.
