Gene Woodling was one of the most feared clutch-hitters and competitors in Orioles history. Enjoyed his best season in 1959 at age 37 when he was elected Most Valuable Oriole. Served not only as a productive offensive player but also as a sage counselor to the many young players who came up to the Orioles in 1959 and 1960.
