Don Buford was the best leadoff hitter the Orioles have had in their first 40 years. Despite his diminutive (5'8", 170 lb.) stature, Bufe's power and speed ignited an offensive attack that led to three straight American League pennants (1969-1971) and a World Championship (1970).
