Chuck Thompson, the voice of the Orioles, was inducted into the National Ball of Fame on August 1, 1993. Earlier that year he was honored with the Ford C. Frick Award. A long-time legend in Baltimore, his voice has evoked fond memories for over 45 years. Chuck was a veteran announcer even before coming to Baltimore in 1949, having started his career in 1939 in Reading, PA. From there he went to Philadelphia before arriving in our town. He has been the voice of the International League Orioles, the All-America Conference Colts, the Bullets, Navy football, American League Orioles and Senators games since 1995.
