Eddie Murray became the third player in Major League history with 500 homers and 3,000 hits. He played 21 seasons in the majors, 12 ½ of them with the Orioles. The A.L. Rookie of the Year in 1977 and a 7-time Most Valuable Oriole, his number 33 was retired when he was traded after the 1988 season. Eddie hit his 500th career home run at Camden Yards after returning to the Orioles in 1996, and finished his career in 1997 with 3,255 hits, 504 home runs and a .287 batting average.
