Jim Gentile, in 1961, batted .302 with 46 home runs and 141 RBI, 96 walks and 96 runs, an offensive effort widely considered to be the best ever by a modern Oriole. Tied the major league record for the most grand slams in one season in 1961, and also became the first ever to hit bases loaded homers in consecutive at bats.
