The citizens of the State of Maryland dedicate this memorial to all veterans who so valiantly fought and served in our nation's wars with eternal gratitude to those who made the supreme sacrifice to preserve equality and freedom throughout the world
This urn contains earth of the hallowed ground of United States military cemeteries throughout the world.
Built on 33rd Street in Baltimore, Memorial Stadium became the official home of the National Football League's Baltimore Colts in 1953 and to the American League's Baltimore Orioles in 1954. The site of many dramatic victories on the field, Memorial Stadium was dedicated to the veterans of the World Wars. With the departure of the Orioles in 1992 and the Baltimore Ravens in 1997, Camden Yards became home to both teams and now is the location of a new memorial paying tribute to veterans who served in all American military conflicts.
