1. Blendon Masonic Lodge 339 Marker

Inscription. In 1862, the Grand Lodge of Ohio chartered Blendon Lodge as their 339th lodge. It was one of twenty-two Ohio lodges chartered during the Civil War years. The first Master and many of the charter members had been members of Charity Lodge 53 of nearby Sunbury.

A meeting space was initially borrowed from the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. In 1867, the lodge moved to the second floor of the Guitner Building at State and Main. Growth led to the 1874 construction of a third-floor addition to the Robinson Building at State and College. Space was shared with the Mizpah Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star which first began meeting there on October 1, 1894.

The current Temple was constructed on land purchased from the American Issue Publishing Company, the publishing arm of the Anti-Saloon League. In February of 1930, a large procession of Masons marched through the streets of Uptown Westerville to the new site and laid the cornerstone. Over the years, community outreach has included renting space to churches, pre-schools, and businesses.
