Nach dem Weben war das Scheren der Tuche als Teil der Appretur ein wichtiger Arbeitsgang bei der Feintuchherstellung, die Eupens Fabrikanten ab dem Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts zu ihrem Reichtum verhalf.
Diese Prozedur - mittels großer, schwerer Scheren - verlieh dem Tuch seine Glätte und seinen Glanz.
Die Gebäude wurden 1713 von dem Fabrikanten Peter Sterman errichtet und in den Jahren 2002-2003 mit Mitteln der Stadt Eupen und der Deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft restauriert.
Anciens Ateliers de Tondeurs
A l'époque pré-industrielle, lieu d'habitation et de travail des tondeurs de draps La tonte s'effectuait à l'aide de grands et lourds ciseaux et donnait aux draps leur lustre. Elle constituait une opération importante après le tissage. Les bâtiments datent de 1713 et furent restaurés dans les années 2002-2003.

Tijdens de voorindustriële periode woon- en werkplaats van de lakenscheerders Het scheren dat gebeurde door middel van grote en zware scharen was een van de belangrijkste handelingen bij de afwerking na het weven en verleende het laken zijn typische glans. De gebouwen dateren uit 1713 en werden gerestaureerd in 2002-2003.

After weaving, shearing the cloth as part of the finishing process was an important step in the production of fine cloth, which helped Eupen's manufacturers to become rich from the end of the 17th century.
This procedure - using large, heavy scissors - gave the cloth its smoothness and shine.
The buildings were built in 1713 by the manufacturer Peter Sterman and restored in 2002-2003 with funds from the city of Eupen and the German-speaking community.
