1. Guitner's Dry Goods Marker
Inscription. One of the oldest remaining commercial buildings in Westerville, this 1870s Italianate style structure was built by Peter Guitner to house his dry goods business. Guitner, a prominent citizen, was elected as one of the first trustees after Westerville's incorporation in 1858.

During the late 1930s and early 1940s, this location was the site of Westerville's first Kroger store.

When the building was new, the second floor was used by the Grand Army of the Republic as a meeting place for their members, Civil War veterans. It also housed the local Masonic Lodge, the Blendon Township Grange, and served as the Nazarene congregation's church.
