1. The Milk House Marker
Inscription. The purpose of the Milk House was to isolate fresh milk from the smells and dust of the barn. Milk houses provided a place to store and cool milk; to store milk cans not in use; and to wash and dry containers. The Milk House was built close to the street for ease of transport to local markets and for pick up by local purchasers
