Excerpt (in translation): During the November pogrom of 1938, the synagogue was destroyed by the SA-Standarte 115 (of the SA-Brigade 50/Starkenburg): the interior and furnishings were demolished, the religious objects thrown into the street, etc. A short time later, the building was demolished and the square leveled. The square was then popularly known as "Judenplatz". When the rectory between the synagogue property and the church was demolished in the 1950s and 1960s and the post office and later the Volksbank were built on the large square that was created, the square was officially named "Postplatz". It was designed as a car park and was also used for local festivals ("Kerb") for several years.(Submitted on June 4, 2024.)
