Built c. 1870, the Kauffman House is one of five remaining examples of the Italianate style along E. Broad and a well-preserved example of a once very popular style and house type in Columbus.
Linus B. Kauffman, Vice President of the Kauffman-Lattimer Co.., wholesale druggists, lived in the property from 1907-1931. His widow, Clara Kauffman, continued to reside there until 1936.
