1. Hotel Glen Rose Marker
Inscription. Built in 1928 when Glen Rose was considered a tourist mecca and health resort, this hotel offered comfortable accommodations including home-cooked meals to the thousands who came to our town each year. Folks would drive down from Dallas just to eat at the dining room. This hotel also accommodated the overflow patients of the famous Snyder Sanitarium next door (Inn on the River, now). With the famous mineral wells and baths of the area plus the rustic scenery, the whole town sported a tourist camp on every corner of the Paluxy. Glen Rose's two large swimming pools and a nine-hole golf course added to the rest and recreation of the tourist, not to mention an 80-acre field touted as an airport for quick access to the pleasures of the area.
