1. Historic German Village Marker
Inscription. The earliest owner of this lot was carpenter Nicholas Mehler. In 1882 he sold it to Charles Eckhart, and in 1892, Charles' widow Elizabeth subdivided the lot and sold the Kossuth-facing parcels. In 1950, Freda and Lawrence Bailey, a WWI veteran and railroad conductor, purchased this home from the Eckhart family.
