Inscription. Symbolism. Red implies liberation. The deployed parachute denotes the unit's area of operations, which the Brigade supports. The saltire with the pierced circular center alludes to helicopter propellers. Black suggests steadfastness and strength. The compass rose symbolizes the global directional support to forces anytime, anywhere, under all conditions. The eagle's head, adapted from the 101st Airborne Division's shoulder sleeve insignia, alludes to the unit's airborne status when the organization was founded.
