1. 101st Sustainment Brigade Marker

Inscription. The advent of the helicopter provided new opportunities for the combat arms elements of the Division to move further faster, and with more capabilities than ever before. Hundreds of attack, lift, and transport helicopters were added to the new 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile). This new capability also added new logistics challenges. The new Division Support Command (DISCOM) grew from a 1,000 Soldier organization to a 3,100 Soldier organization in order to provide the wide range of sophisticated logistics support needed to keep the combat elements of an Airmobile Division on the move.
