Regarding Veterans Memorial Flagpole. A July 1963 obituary for Clarence LeMar, who dedicated this flagpole, said that he was long-time florist in the Chicago area, with shops in Chicago, La Grange and Oak Brook. He was a director of the Society of American Florists, the obituary said; other newspaper mentions indicate that he was president of La Grange's Chamber of Commerce.
