1. Simpson United Methodist Church Marker
Inscription. Established in 1856 in Samuel Fletter house, 40 Bass Street, and meetings held at #5 Fire House on Prince Street. First Structure, Centenary Church, built in 1868 at Masterson and Harrison; Rededicated in 1885 and named in honor of Bishop Matthew Simpson. Moved to larger stone structure in 1912 at Harrison and Suttenfield. Latest structure opened in 1968.
